Ok, ok, I know the sound of this recipe sounds weird – but it’s delicious!
Actually, I ended up with this recipe unexpectedly and quite accidentally. I was planning on making Tuna Carbonara, but then, I was in such a hurry that I didn’t have time to go through all the steps of cooking carbonara.
For Cabonara Lovers
But still, I was craving for that Carbonara taste, you know? I’m sure all carbonara lovers know what I’m talking about. So, using most of the ingredients I would be using for the carbonara, I decided to cook a 1-pot pasta recipe instead. You know, the kind of recipe that involves putting everything you need in just one pot and the dish is done in just a few minutes.
So, taking the Tuna out of the main ingredients, I proceeded with my very own invention (I’ve never heard anyone cook Carbonara this way) – my 1-pot pasta carbonara!
Try it and I’m sure you’ll love the taste and the simplicity of the recipe as well.
Here are the complete ingredients:
- 300 grams Pasta
- 1 large White Onion (chopped)
- 5 Cloves Garlic (chopped)
- 1 small can Campbell Cream of Mushroom
- 250 ml Milk
- 4 cups Water
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- Grated cheese (for topping)
- Place pasta in pot.
- Add onion and garlic.
- Add water and let it boil.
- A few minutes before the pasta gets fully cooked, add cream of mushroom and milk.
- Stir occasionally until the pasta is fully cooked.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from stove and serve.
- Top with cheese.
A Delicious Yet Simple Recipe
It will take you about 15 minutes to prepare and finish this recipe because as you can see, the ingredients are so few. So if you always have the basic ingredients at home, you can cook this type of dish whenever you need to prepare a fast AND DELICIOUS recipe.
Remember, you are not going to drain the pasta of water once cooked, so make sure that you don’t put in too much water. It should just be enough to cook the noodles. But it’s ok to have some leftover water after cooking the pasta since the cream of mushroom is quite thick anyway. The milk adds to its creaminess. And of course, the cheese topping makes the dish REALLY delicious.
Go ahead, try it – it actually tastes like the real carbonara, if you ask me (LOL).
